Shanghai Scientific and Technological Literature Press recently published a picture book named Nixing de Tianshi. The book was written to show thanks to the heroes and heroines of our time-—the medical workers who fought COVID-19 and tried their best to save every patient's life while risking their own.

14 painters worked together to finish the book in the style of Chinese paintings. It is a truthful and vivid record of the heroic actions of medical workers since late January. All the pictures in it come from the real moments of the medical workers. Here, let's take a look at two of them.

One picture describes a mother saying goodbye to her daughter at the airport before leaving for Wuhan, only after a simple dinner on the Chinese New Year's Eve. A lot of people can't help crying when seeing it.

The man in one picture is Zhang Wenhong, a doctor from Shanghai Huashan Hospital. He has won the hearts of the Chinese public for sharing knowledge about cOVID-19 in a wise and humorous way. He was chosen in the book as a representative (代表)of countless brave medical workers fighting in the frontline.

Qian Zhen, the designer of the book, said that warm pink was used as the theme colour for the book because most of the stories took place in Wuhan. Pink showed people's best wishes to Wuhan — lifting the lockdown (解除封锁) when the air turned warm and flowers came out.

Nature is always full of surprises. There are many great (奇观)in the world. Some of them are (人造的). The others are (大自然的). The Grand Canyon is one of them. It lies in the Grand Canyon National Park in the US. (虽然) I had been there several times, I visited it again last year. When I arrived, it began to rain. Then I went (穿过)a gate and walked along a dark path. Suddenly, the rain stopped and the sun rose behind me, and it (照耀)on the rocks.

When I looked down to the Colorado River, I saw a (银灰色的)stream nearly one mile (在下面)me. It was very deep. If you put the two tallest buildings in the world on top of each other at the (底部)of the canyon, they still would not reach the top. I (逗留)there for about half an hour. What a great time I had there!

Have you ever been to India? Last summer it was my (one) time to India. I was glad (see) the Taj Mahal(泰姬陵), one of the most beautiful (building) in the world. It (stand) in the city of Agra. But I was a bit angry the entrance fees (费用) foreigners have to pay almost 1, 000 rupees! When we got close to the Taj Mahal, we took our shoes. The marble looked bright and nice, (especial) the beautiful marble carvings. Inside (be) the marble tombs.

We really enjoyed ourselves. It was memorable experience.

In April, an ice base will be built by the North Pole Adventures1is run by a Russian travel company and American Global Expeditions. The ice base will2more than 10 programmes of travelling to the North Pole.

The ice base will be well supplied 3warm tents, food and water. The tents were used by scientific exploration teams and proved very4. The tent camp set at the base can house more than 100 people at the same time5, the ice base will be able to handle different types of planes. There will always be two helicopters ready to airlift6 from the ice base to the North Pole.

The route for each group is to be chosen by the organisers after thinking about the7. The type of planes and helicopters to be used for airlifting is 8determined by the organisers in advance.9the weather in the North Pole is very changeable, icefields move10the speed of several kilometres per hour. So travellers will find the North Pole in a very11place. When travellers finish their North Pole adventures and return to the ice base, they can warm themselves in a tent and12a return flight.
