    Gina is a new teacher in a middle school. She lives in San Diego, just fifteen minutes' walk 1 a beach. So she always walks along the beach after work.

    Gina was very happy this weekend. After a busy week, she was ready (准备好的) to 2 The weekend started when she met her friends for dinner at Sam's Chinese Restaurant on Friday night. "My friends and I all like Chinese food, so we 3eat together at Sam' s Chinese Restaurant," said Gina.

    On 4 morning, Gina helped a friend move to a new house. In the afternoon, she went to her tennis class. 5 she is new to the sport, she plays well. After dinner, Gina went to the Red Onion and 6 until (到……时) 10:00 p.m. She loves dancing and she thinks it is good for her health.

    On Sunday, Gina got up at 8:00 a.m. and went to a small 7 near her home for breakfast. She likes the food there. Then she 8 the whole (整个) morning reading books. In the afternoon, she went to swim with her cousin, and then 9 had a fast-food meal together. In the evening, she went to the San Diego Folk Festival. She thought it was wonderful.

    When I was waiting for a bus at a station, I saw a young man get into a telephone box near the station. After a short time, he came out and very sad (难过的). As he saw me, he came over.

    "Good afternoon, sir," he said. " was Abraham Lincoln born, do you know?"

    I felt a little  at his words. "Something may be wrong (有毛病的) with him," I thought. Then he asked  and I could see that he was not joking (开玩笑). So I thought for a minute and  him that Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809.

    The young man thanked   turned around and walked into the telephone box again. A few minutes later, he came out . He thanked me again and told me that he wanted to make a telephone call to his friend but he  his telephone number.

    "You  me remember it," he said. "His telephone number is '180909', and you can remember it easily  you know when the great man was born."

    Sarah is thirteen years old. She comes from Manchester in the UK; but now she is living in Geneva in Switzerland. Her father works for the UN and because of that she and her parents have to move a lot.

    Sarah has lived in five different countries: the US, Morocco, Turkey, Switzerland and the UK. But she doesn't remember the UK very well, because they moved to the US when she was only two years old. Still, she visits it often during vacation. She usually stays at her grandparents' house in Manchester. She likes visiting her grandparents, because they often take her to the Peak District National Park. It is very beautiful. Sometimes she stays with her uncle in the little town of Penzance in Cornwall. Sarah likes Penzance, too, but it's often very cold and windy. Penzance is very different from Geneva. In Geneva it is much warmer (更暖和的) in summer, but. also colder  in winter.

    Sarah likes going to new places. But every time she moves, she has to leave behind her old friends. She always needs to make new friends, and then leave them again. Luckily, they can write e-mails to tell each other about their lives.
