Thank you for all your hard work last weekend raising money for Sunny House Old People's Home.We all1 a great time and it was nice to see a lot of new volunteers!

    Here is 2 we did last weekend.

    On Saturday，some 3went to Sunny House Old People's Home.Fiona and Tom played chess with some of the old people.David，John and Alice made tea4 everyone.Sam played the piano and Sally washed the ladies' hair.

    In the evening，we put on a charity 5 for the old people.It made them very 6Grace played the violin and Nick sang songs.Some of the old people sang along with them.

    On Sunday，we held a fair(展览会) on the school playground.

    In the morning，we 7 food，drinks，and some other things for the fair.Nancy and Ann helped one another to buy fruit for their stalls(摊位).Leo and Philip helped one another to 8 old books，magazines and comics for their stalls.Amy and Tom helped 9 to decorate their stalls.

    In the afternoon，Nancy sold fruit salad and Ann sold fruit juice.Leo and Philip sold books，magazines and comics.

    Mrs. Gill lived next door to Nita. Every afternoon, Mrs. Gill took a walk. She said it kept her young. Nita liked to talk with Mrs. Gill when Mrs. Gill came back. Mrs. Gill was always happy after her walk. She often showed Nita something she had found, like a beautiful red leaf (叶子)

    One afternoon, Mrs. Gill looked upset. Nita asked her why.

    “I am sad about all the trash (垃圾) on the street,” she said. “I never saw so much trash in this neighborhood! What happened?”

    “Mrs. Trent moved,” said Nita. “She used to go out each morning and pick up trash. I often saw her on my way to school.”

    “Thanks, Nita,” said Mrs. Gill. “Let's call ourselves the clean-up team!”

    “Make­-A-­Wish” is one of the world's most well­known charities(慈善机构)．It makes wishes come true for children who have serious illnesses.It gives them hope and joy and helps them forget about their health problems and have fun.

    It all started in 1980 in Phoenix, Arizona.Christopher was a 7­year­old boy who was very sick.He always dreamed of becoming a police officer.Tommy Austin and Ron Cox, two police officers, made his wish come true.They gave Christopher a tour of the city in a police helicopter(直升飞机) and made a real police uniform(制服) for him.

    There are four kinds of wishes children usually have：

    I wish to go.Children usually want to travel or go to a concert, a game or a park.

    I wish to meet.Children sometimes want to meet their favorite actors, singers or players.

    I wish to be.Some children wish to become actors, singers or police officers.

    I wish to have.They often want to have a computer, a game, a bike or many other things.
