On
his birthday Martin got a book from his father. He felt sad
he didn't talk too much. His father noticed this and said, "Cheer
up, Martin! It's a magic book. you want to find out its magic, you'll
have to read it."
Well,
that was good. Martin liked everything to do with magic. He started reading it,
he wasn't very interested. The next morning, his father asked him, "Have
you found the magic key?"
"No. I turned the pages of the book quickly, but there was no sign
of the key." Martin replied. His father said, "You won't find the
magic out you read the book carefully."
Martin
wasn't patient (有耐心的) enough, and he stopped reading the
book. One day his sister asked him for the book. She wanted to read it. Several
days later, the girl finished the book, she happily shouted, "I've
found it, the key of the magic book!" So Martin started to read the book
again. At first it was a pain (痛苦). But, gradually (逐渐地), Martin got interested in the adventurous (有冒险精神的) Prince's life. Then, suddenly, he was there. The book itself was
the key! Whenever he opened it, he felt he was taken to (被带到) its mountains and seas.
