My Favourite Festival

Everyone has his or her own favourite festival. As for me, I like best because it's the best time to my love to my mother.

Last Mother's Day, I invited my mother to go to I had an appointment with her but I forgot it. I got there, the movies had almost finished. However， my mother was still waiting at the theatre. How I felt! To my surprise, my mother didn't blame me." Instead, she wasn't but said patiently as usual,

"You should do everything on time." Keeping promise is very for everyone. "I felt really guilty.

I'll never forget that day. Mother's love is as as the ocean. I love my mum not just for what she has done for our family, but her lesson to me.

Do you know Pingxi Area? It is in the eastern part New Taipei City. It is famous for the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival. Every year hundreds of people reach Pingxi Area for the festival on the (fifteen) day of the first lunar month.

Pingxi Area has a history of about 500 years. In ancient times, people used sky lanterns to send (message) when the village was in danger. In the last 30 to 40 years, however, (fly) sky lanterns has become a popular activity. Sky lanterns are believed as way to pass on wishes to gods. Visitors can write the wishes by (them) on a sky lantern and release (放开)it to the sky.

At the Sky Lantern Festival a few years , modern lanterns appeared. The lanterns are burnt out (烧尽) they fall onto the ground so that they don't cause a fire. It's a good way to keep people safe and protect both the earth and traditions. The event also (bring) a light and sound show with lanterns. Tourists travel between (tradition) and modern lanterns, and enjoy special experiences. They all say it is a mix of tradition and technology.
