If a person lost an arm, how could he or she still play basketball? Zhang Jiacheng, a 15-year-old Chinese boy from Yunfu city, Guangdong Province, did it and touched everyone.

At the age of five, Zhang lost his right arm in an accident. However, he wasn't afraid and he quickly learnt to use his left arm and hand.

He began playing basketball three years ago. At first, he found even the simplest moves difficult, but he didn't give up. Every day, he played basketball after school with friends no matter what the weather was like. During those days, he broke three basketballs. Two years later, although other players are taller and stronger than him, he plays better than them. "Zhang is a quiet and shy boy, but he changes to another person when he plays basketball. Many people know him now, but few realise the efforts(努力)that went into his skills," said his coach.

"The sport makes me happy and confident. When I touch the ball, I cannot take my hand off," Zhang said. "I want to be a basketball player. I hope that I can play more games and let more people know me."

Below one of his videos, Chinese Basketball Association's 1 all-time leading scorer Yi Jianlian commented ( 评论) that "The heart is always the strongest part of the body and you are the real star in the game". Zhu Fangyu was a national basketball player before and now he is the manager of the Guangdong South China Tiger Basketball Club. He said to the boy, "I never saw a child play basketball better than you. When the CBA season starts, please come and watch our games.

The NBA stars also like the Chinese boy. Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors, one of Zhang's favourite basketball players, said online, "Who is this kid? Help me find him! Keep doing it and don't let anyone tell you that you can't. "Zhang responded in excitement, "I will try harder.

"My son found his dream and he works hard for it," Zhang's father Zhang Beiha said. "He makes me proud."

The boy wrote in one of his Tiktok videos, "Give it a try, or give it up." He chose to keep trying. He can be the brightest basketball star in the future.

Zhang began to play basketball at the age of        .

There is a girl at school, and we don't really get along. She keeps spreading rumors (传播谣言) about me and people are turning against me. What should I do?

    —Sam

Some people spread rumors as a way to scare others and get popularity. But spreading rumors as a way to turn people against someone is a form of bullying. So what can you do if you find yourself the target (目标)of rumors and social bullying?

Turn to a trusted adult for support. Talk to someone you can trust, like a parent, teacher, school counselor, or coach. Let that person know what you're going through.

Keep him or her up to date on what's going on, even as things start to get better. A trusted adult can help you feel more supported and less lonely. What's more, adults can do something to put a stop to the rumors.

Find your friends. Find a friend or two who will be willing to help you and who won't listen to rumors. If you want, share how you feel with those friends. Don't dwell on the situation, though. Spend time having fun with your friends and doing activities you enjoy.

Speak up. Try to speak to the girl who's spreading rumors. Don't be angry. Avoid shouting. Just say what you want calmly and clearly. After you've said what you want, you can simply walk away. There's no need to wait for her to say anything back. Leave her to think about what you said.

Before you try talking to the girl, though, talk with an. adult about what to say. It can also help to have a friend stand with you when you talk to the girl.

Growing up can be hard in poor neighbourhoods where crime is common. That is the situation Marco faced when he started at Garfield High School in Los Angeles, California. The boy hated school. He said he had the wrong friends, often missed classes and even got into fights.

Marco got into trouble at Garfield High School. The school stopped him from attending classes. He was almost sent to a school for problem students. But Marco Antonio changed his behaviour. He said a talk with his mother helped him change. And he praised his teachers. With the help of the teachers, he didn't leave the school.

Many other students at Garfield High School had been suspended (休学) before Jose Huerta, Garfield High School's principal (校长) came. This kind of punishment is not good for kids. Jose Huerta took action when he first arrived at Garfield more than four years ago. "You don't have to stop kids from coming to school. It's important to get on well with them," Huerta said.

When Mr Huerta came to Garfield, more than half the students were leaving school without finishing their studies. He said most of the punishments' were for usual problems known as "willful defiance(挑衅)". He said that could include something, as small as eating in class.

Under Mr Huerta's leadership, students who got into trouble first talk to a teacher, and then the teacher tells a parent about it. Finally, group support can be provided if needed. Today, 85 percent of its students at Garfield can finish their studies.

"The reason why we don't see willful defiance is that now there's a connection with our students. You love them and believe them; they will love you and believe you, "Huerta said.

Before having a talk with his mother, Marco probably agreed that ________.
From the second paragraph, we know that ________.
Before Mr Huerta came to Garfield, the school rules were too ________.
In Mr Huerta's opinion, it's important to ________.
