    There is no doubt that habits are formed at a very early age. When one is young, it is easy to acquire good habits.

    Good habits are practices that help us in our daily life. The habit of brushing one's teeth in the morning, for instance, keeps one's teeth clean and prevents a bad smell which is unpleasant to others. Bad habits such as sticking one's tongue out, biting one's fingernails and picking one's nose, are undesirable ways of behaving in front of others. If we want people to enjoy being with us, we should try to develop habits that are pleasant.

    It is said, “We sow an act; we reap a habit. We sow a habit and we reap a character.” The habits we formed at an early age shape our character. Habits are like tributaries(支流) which flow into a river. The river is made up of all its tributaries; a person's character is made up of all the habits that he or she has acquired over the years.

    I was taking a train to London's Victoria Station. I had noticed that the carriage was noise and filled with people.

    Before long, a train inspector comes to check out tickets. A passenger realized he couldn't find his ticket but became quite upset. Then everyone in the carriage began searching the ticket, which was eventually found under a seat several rows from his owner. The person who found a ticket smiled with pleasure at his success.

    No one in the carriage had previous spoken to or even noticed the ticket-owner before. Yet, they had so quickly offered the strangers their help. If we could show concern to others on need, the world would be a better place to live in.

Dear Sir，

Thank you for your offer of invite me to the summer English course in your school. As for your choice between the two courses, I prefer the four-week course for 60 hours of study. Because of this would allow me more times to do some travelling and make a few new friends either. Of all the subjects I'm learning at school, I like English best. I had been learning English for 6 years but my spoken English remains poorly. So I hope to take this chance to improve it. If is possible, I'd like to stay with a family for a couple of days in order I can know some customs in England. I believe I will have wonderful time this summer.

My brother used to ask me question whenever he did his homework, that made me annoyed. But every time he accepted my explanations I feel that I was the smartest person in the world. Answered his questions, I always liked to say that he was so stupid to solve such simple problems.

Last week both of them got the report cards from our school. Unexpectedly, I got a lot of Bs, though he got As. To make things worse, all that day my brother screamed how foolish it was for me not to ask questions! I could say nothing but admit that he was right. I have never made a fun of him since then.
